In 2010, an information centre was established in the four-castle town of Neckarsteinach in a town house built around 1900 which is now a listed building. The second floor houses an exhibition dedicated to Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff. Inaugurated in December 2012, the Eichendorff Museum was the result of a private initiative and is a gift to the town of Neckarsteinach from Walter Teltschik, a patron of the arts from Wilhelmsfeld. He felt a special connection with Joseph von Eichendorff because he grew up in the northern Moravian village of Sedlnitz, where Eichendorff had inherited a manor after the death of his brother. The museum provides information on the poet's life and work with the help of display boards, maps, facsimiles and a topographical model. A statue of the most famous character created by Eichendorff, the Taugenichts, serves as an eye-catcher.
